Litigation and administrative proceedings

Act as agent to handle various intellectual property disputes through legal and administrative proceedings, including civil actions and administrative procedures against patent, trademark and copyright infringements; civil actions against unfair competition; and litigation or arbitration relating to disputes over technology contracts (e.g. technology transfer, licensing, consultation and service contracts).

Consultation

Counsel on intellectual property laws, unfair competition law, contract law, and other related law. Analyze and evaluate the validity of Intellectual Property Right (IPR), analyze and assess the likelihood of IP infringements, advise on business secrets, company names, trade dressing protection and other facets of unfair competition; and also deal with non-infringement affairs in intellectual property, e.g., doing due diligence on IPR in company merge and acquisition.

IPR-related contracts

Draft or review technology or IPR-related contracts covering contract for IPR transfer, contract for IP licensing, contract for technical consultancy, contract for technical service, retaining contract, etc; also take part in negotiations over technology or IPR-related contracts.

Acts before Customs

Work with Customs in border control. Act as agent to request IPR recordation in Customs; apply for protection measures at local Customs for intellectual properties; and work together with local Customs to inspect and seize the suspected infringing products.
